Yum! No Bake Energy Bites

These are the best.  I stumbled upon this recipe that a friend of mine posted so, unfortunately, I take no credit for the recipe.  They are super delicious! They remind me a lot of the classic no-bake cookies (we always called "poo plops" growing up, Matt calls them "spider cookies"). But whatever you call them, they are amazing. But the best part about these is that they have no butter, sugar (aside from the optional chocolate chips-which I obviously put in), eggs, or flour. So good! So, without further adieu, here you are! Enjoy!

The pics on this girl's blog are way better than my crappy pics with my phone.  But they don't contain Olivia sooooo...

Olivia loves to help mix.  Makes a huge mess.  Oh well. She's cute so she's allowed.

You can't see it in this picture, but in her hand is a nice big energy bite.  Clearly, just what she needs, right?

And the glory...

Wipeout

Wow! This is my second post in less than a week! I'm on a roll now.  K, so every Friday night we try to take the girls for a little outing.  Since our options are limited in the winter for 2 kids aged 2 and 12 months, we usually opt for swimming.  We found a really fun pool here in Kelowna that the girls love and admittedly, Matt and I love going there too.  In fact, we went there without the girls last week.  It was awesome.  And yes, we are 10 years old.  So why do we love it so much? Not only does it have 3 fun waterslides but there's something called a "Flowrider" there.  It's something that is supposed to simulate surfing.  Instead of trying to describe it to you, I'll just post this video that Matt so kindly took of me trying it out.

It's nice how Matt thought it necessary to put my wipeout in slow motion too.  I just find it interesting that he didn't want any of the videos of him posted.  Well, needless to say, it's pretty obvious that I have some mad skillz.  I'm thinking Billabong might start sponsoring me soon.  I'm just waiting for the call.

Here's a pic of one of my battle wounds.  I have many more, but those are in areas that wouldn't be appropriate to post.

Big mess (times 3)

So clearly I  have issues with keeping up with blog posts so instead of trying to do a recap of the past year and a half which is overwhelming to me, I will just reiterate what happened today.

First off, clearly Olivia still hasn't perfected the whole potty training thing.  Today right before her nap she went to the bathroom on the toilet successfully (number one and two). Yay! So I thought to myself, "well, I'm not going to put a pull-up on her during her nap because she just went to the bathroom."  Silly me.  During her nap, she had pooped all over her clothes, bed, carpets, and walls.  Then she tried to "help" mommy by cleaning it up by herself.  She got a towel and had smeared it all in really well.  Then she decided to come get me leaving a nice little trail of poo in the hallway leading to my bedroom.   After having a minor coronary attack, I started the clean up and put Olivia in the kitchen  and turned on Dora in hopes that it would distract her for a while.  Silly me.  After the hour long poo clean-up, I came down into the kitchen to check on her.  Well, to my ahem, utter delight, there was Olivia with a bottle of lotion, the contents of which were all over her clothes, all over the counters and all over her baby sisters stuffed animals.  Awesome.  So on goes the clean up of the lotion.  At least it smelled better than the first mess.  While I cleaned up that mess, I decided to move Olivia into the living room where there were toys she could play with and distract herself with.  Or so I thought.  Silly me.  After I finally got the mess of the lotion cleaned up, I went into the living room where I found her and Sophie (who had woken up from her 20 minute catnap sometime during the messes) covered in peanut butter head to toe.  Not to mention the carpets and toys.  Awesome.  Where she found the peanut butter, that still has yet to be determined.

Soooooo... I guess it's just one of those days where I think, "at least I kept them alive".  I either had to laugh or cry after all this so I chose the former.  I think it was a good choice.

Where are the pictures you ask?  I wish I would have thought of taking some during all this but my mind was elsewhere.  Sorry.
