Yum! No Bake Energy Bites

These are the best.  I stumbled upon this recipe that a friend of mine posted so, unfortunately, I take no credit for the recipe.  They are super delicious! They remind me a lot of the classic no-bake cookies (we always called "poo plops" growing up, Matt calls them "spider cookies"). But whatever you call them, they are amazing. But the best part about these is that they have no butter, sugar (aside from the optional chocolate chips-which I obviously put in), eggs, or flour. So good! So, without further adieu, here you are! Enjoy!

The pics on this girl's blog are way better than my crappy pics with my phone.  But they don't contain Olivia sooooo...

Olivia loves to help mix.  Makes a huge mess.  Oh well. She's cute so she's allowed.

You can't see it in this picture, but in her hand is a nice big energy bite.  Clearly, just what she needs, right?

And the glory...

Wipeout

Wow! This is my second post in less than a week! I'm on a roll now.  K, so every Friday night we try to take the girls for a little outing.  Since our options are limited in the winter for 2 kids aged 2 and 12 months, we usually opt for swimming.  We found a really fun pool here in Kelowna that the girls love and admittedly, Matt and I love going there too.  In fact, we went there without the girls last week.  It was awesome.  And yes, we are 10 years old.  So why do we love it so much? Not only does it have 3 fun waterslides but there's something called a "Flowrider" there.  It's something that is supposed to simulate surfing.  Instead of trying to describe it to you, I'll just post this video that Matt so kindly took of me trying it out.

It's nice how Matt thought it necessary to put my wipeout in slow motion too.  I just find it interesting that he didn't want any of the videos of him posted.  Well, needless to say, it's pretty obvious that I have some mad skillz.  I'm thinking Billabong might start sponsoring me soon.  I'm just waiting for the call.

Here's a pic of one of my battle wounds.  I have many more, but those are in areas that wouldn't be appropriate to post.

Big mess (times 3)

So clearly I  have issues with keeping up with blog posts so instead of trying to do a recap of the past year and a half which is overwhelming to me, I will just reiterate what happened today.

First off, clearly Olivia still hasn't perfected the whole potty training thing.  Today right before her nap she went to the bathroom on the toilet successfully (number one and two). Yay! So I thought to myself, "well, I'm not going to put a pull-up on her during her nap because she just went to the bathroom."  Silly me.  During her nap, she had pooped all over her clothes, bed, carpets, and walls.  Then she tried to "help" mommy by cleaning it up by herself.  She got a towel and had smeared it all in really well.  Then she decided to come get me leaving a nice little trail of poo in the hallway leading to my bedroom.   After having a minor coronary attack, I started the clean up and put Olivia in the kitchen  and turned on Dora in hopes that it would distract her for a while.  Silly me.  After the hour long poo clean-up, I came down into the kitchen to check on her.  Well, to my ahem, utter delight, there was Olivia with a bottle of lotion, the contents of which were all over her clothes, all over the counters and all over her baby sisters stuffed animals.  Awesome.  So on goes the clean up of the lotion.  At least it smelled better than the first mess.  While I cleaned up that mess, I decided to move Olivia into the living room where there were toys she could play with and distract herself with.  Or so I thought.  Silly me.  After I finally got the mess of the lotion cleaned up, I went into the living room where I found her and Sophie (who had woken up from her 20 minute catnap sometime during the messes) covered in peanut butter head to toe.  Not to mention the carpets and toys.  Awesome.  Where she found the peanut butter, that still has yet to be determined.

Soooooo... I guess it's just one of those days where I think, "at least I kept them alive".  I either had to laugh or cry after all this so I chose the former.  I think it was a good choice.

Where are the pictures you ask?  I wish I would have thought of taking some during all this but my mind was elsewhere.  Sorry.

4 Years and Counting...

So yesterday was our 4 year anniversary.  What have we been up to for the past 4 years? Hmm... well, a lot of working for the first 2 then one and a half babies for the other 2.  Not bad I'd say.
After work, Matt and I went out to dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant, "Nirvana".  So delicious! There, Matt gave me some great coupons,( you know... free foot rubs, free dinners, etc.) So awesome.  The best part is that he didn't put an expiry on them so I will redeem at my leisure.  Ha ha.
After that, we did a little shopping and got each other some new shoes.  Can't go wrong with shoe shopping.  I find it the least depressing while pregnant.  After that, we came home and I had decorated our room all fun earlier that day and made him a strawberry cheesecake.

I went to the dollar store across the street and got some helium balloons and tied pictures of us on our wedding day at the bottom of them.  Olivia thought the balloons were the coolest thing ever!  We walked to the store and on the way back I let her carry them (tied around her wrist) and everyone was honking at us.  She thought it was so fun!! If she wasn't strapped down in her stroller, she probably would have floated away.

The cheesecake.  Baked, of course with fresh strawberries on top.

The room again.  And yes, that is the cheesecake on the bed.   What more could you ask for?

Close up of the pics that I tied on the balloons.

So, there ya be.  That was our day.  Now you've seen my mad decorating skills.  (Ya, right.)

Here Comes Baby #2!!

So, we've been a very busy little family so far this summer! We've had Olivia's first birthday on July 1st up at the cottage which was a blast!

Then I had to go back to work part time.  I was planning on only doing a couple of days a week but we've had a slight change in plans because we are expecting baby #2!  We are so excited and thrilled about it! So I'm just trying to get enough hours in to qualify for maternity leave again in February.  The due date is the 15th of February but Matt has decided that he wants all our babies born on holidays so I need to aim for the 14th.  Ha ha! We'll see what happens.
Although we found out the gender when I was pregnant with Olivia, I sort of want this one to be a surprise.  We'll see if I can wait that long.  Matt is anxious to find out though.
Here's how we announced the pregnancy to the family.  Note Olivia's shirt;)  This is the best picture we had of her wearing the shirt. Haha!

Here's some more pics of the long weekend in August.

Matt's pretty proud of himself for winning the annual fishing festival...for the 5th time?

Easter Time

I'm so bad at this whole blogging thing.  My personal goal is to get better at it.  I'm going to start putting pics of my "Jack & Olive" products up too.
So we went to Alberta a couple weeks ago for Grandma Miller's funeral.  Although it was sad circumstances, we still had fun seeing everyone.  That is until we got the stomach flu! Poor little Olivia had it for a whole week.  She ended up losing almost 2 pounds. It was the worst but we still managed to try to enjoy ourselves.
So here we have 2 of Olivia's cousins: Little Jane Crawford and little Eliot Smith.  They will all be best buds.

One day while in Alberta, my mom, dad, Kim, Carrie and I (and of course a few babies) decided to go to Waterton.  There was a tonne of snow! We didn't do much, so we just snapped a few pics.  It was really pretty though.

I love this picture of Olivia wearing Grandpa Miller's old pilot's hat from WWII.

Last Few Years in a Nutshell

Ok, we've joined the world of bloggers.  Of course, when I say we I mean I.  "Blogging" isn't exactly number one of my husband's priority list.  Anyway, we are Matt, Mandy, and Olivia Fuller.  Here's a little background to tell you about our life in the past year or three. Ha ha.
Matt and I got married on Sept. 28, 2007.  I had just graduated dental hygiene school when we got married so shortly after, I started cleaning teeth.  Matt works for a financial company that his dad started up called, Canada Loyal Financial.  He enjoys working there along with his dad and other siblings.
Of course we are both from abnormally large families.  I'm one of 10 kids and Matt, one of twelve!! Yikes! Everyone, asks us how many kids we are going to have but we just give them the same answer.  We'll just start with one and go from there.  Which brings me to our next milestone.  We have one perfect little baby girl, Olivia.  We were blessed to have her join our little family on July first of last year.  Best day ever.  She's never given us any trouble and never will!! She's adorable and the best thing that's ever happened to us.  Last year was extremely busy but so much fun! It started our with a trip to Mexico! Can't go wrong with that. Then, it was just babies, babies, babies! On my side of that family there were five grandbabies born and on Matt's side there were three.  So Olivia has six cousins her same age. Woo hoo! Lucky girl.
Let's see...what else. After I had Olivia, my cousin's wife and I started making stuff for our babies and we had so much fun doing it we just couldn't stop so now we started up our own business and are selling it.  What do we make you ask?  Everything from carseat covers to nursing covers to hair accessories to wipes cases! You name it, we got it! We have a blast.
Anyways, this is my official first blog. Hopefully it won't be the last. We'll see.
